OYA Solar Recognized For Its Commitment to Diversity in the Solar Industry

The Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council has added OYA Solar to its network of Aboriginal and minority-owned suppliers

Toronto, ON, Canada: OYA Solar, a solar developer and emerging independent power producer, is gaining recognition as a diversity leader in the solar industry.

Both the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC) and the New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council (NY & NJ MSDC) recently certified and subscribed OYA Solar respectively, as a diverse supplier or minority business enterprise (MBE).

OYA Solar leads the solar industry in diversity with visible minorities comprising 64% of our workforce as compared to 48% in the U.S. solar industry. More importantly, the composition of the leadership team (60% visible minorities) mirrors that of the larger company. Gains have also been made in gender representation, as the percentage of women in the company grew 8% in the past two years.
